This Friday I’m keeping it short and simple. I have three questions for you.
- Are you having a good day?
- Why?
- Tomorrow, would you rather have a good day or a bad day?
Generally, when things are going our way, we’re happy. And when things aren’t going our way, we’re unhappy. I’m sure you can think of examples for both.
According to Gen Kelsang Nyema, a Buddhist nun, there are two things we need to do to improve our happiness.
- Stop outsourcing your happiness onto people and circumstances. Stop relying on someone to make you happy and stop blaming others for your unhappiness.
- Cultivate happiness from within your own mind. It’s not what’s happening to you that is determining your happiness, it’s how you are responding to it.

I encourage you to cultivate your own happiness this weekend!
