I saw this quote posted on LinkedIn the other day and it’s stuck with me. Self-reflection is so important and I know I don’t spend enough time there. I find working with other managers and supervisors that they often look to the relationship (manager to staff) and wonder, “why won’t they do what I ask them,” or “why are they so difficult to work with?” Often what’s necessary is to self-reflect and ask, “what is triggering me in this situation? What is creating a block in communication with me and this person?”

Take a moment to spend time in self-reflection today when you catch yourself venting or getting frustrated with something that isn’t working.
